CKC Director’s Message and Thanks
Thanks,
folks, for your support during this election campaign. A strong message of support from Steve
Andrews awaited me yesterday when I checked my e-mail after the results were
announced. Steve, Emir and I have been colleagues for many years and we will,
without question, work together for the good of dogs, through the CKC.
I
very much appreciate the time you all have taken to provide me with background
on situations and concerns and to offer preliminary thoughts on solutions. After next weekend's meeting, I hope to be
able to begin work within our zone to quantify some of those concerns. Together we will be able to sort through
those that are able to be addressed here in the Region as compared to those
which have to be taken to a National Agenda.
Our work - yours and mine - is just beginning and with your continued interest and
support, we should be able to move your Agenda forward in the months to
come.
Again, I thank you for the confidence you have shown in my candidacy.

Develop
a Regional communication strategy to ensure members’ voices are heard at the
Board table

Participate
as a pro-active and positive voice at the CKC table

Improve
Board communication to members including publication of the draft Agenda in
advance of meetings would be a goal
Ø
Support
the analysis of Bylaws, Policy and Procedures Manual to encourage a current and
progressive approach to supporting the dog fancy
Ø
Use
my extensive business background to support strong fiscal responsibility and
human resource management
Ø
Use
my extensive background in the world of purebred dogs to support a progressive
organization, willing to listen to members and change as is needed to improve
all aspects of the dog fancy
Ø
Respond to members’queries and concerns, providing support and assistance as possible in each
situation and within the Policies and Procedures of the CKC
