The smallest of the Terriers in the Terrier Group, the Norwich is a lap dog with a Terrier personality. Fragile as young pups, these are not dogs for very young childrenbut are sturdy little adults packed with attitude. They are game little beings whose size belies their workingability to hunt fox with the hounds. They have a very loving disposition, arenot quarrelsome and are active companions. On average, the Norwichweigh 10 pounds. The Canadian standardcalls for a dog 10 inches at the shoulder with a hard wiry coat. Colour may be red, wheaten, black and tan orgrizzle. With their short tail, upright ear and wide head, the Norwich is ashandsome a terrier as one could wish while embodying the essence of a ‘gay andfearless’ hunter.
